Have you decided to be Clark Kent or Superman online ?

Superman or the average working man telling a story.
This is the options we can choose when it comes to making or creating an account on the social website. Is it taken a lot of 'Reported link pages'and only Facebook having the power to believe if your name is credible and believable enough to be real "Cl@rk '!bilah' K3nt." Imagine if our people had that superhero idea without being near superhero and nearer to KissAss. It not that much of a glamourous life when you dont live it out but type it out. But it does become scary when younger people becom naive enough to belive the in. (I feel to tell this blog in a fairy tale.)

Once upon a time in Facebook Land, someone decided that it should be a cartoon character week and that everyone in Facebook land would change there profile picture into some memorable cartoon of your childhood. Everyone enjoyed finding Cow & Chicken and Power Rangers but little did they know it was a way for Pedos to add younger children and they not feel threatened because their profile picture was a 90's cartoon character as well. The week is over and everyone back to who they are, if they wanted to be.

There was a website that shows this example of called 'THE BIG PLOT'.
Four characters tell a story using dialogues shown on YouTube videos, blog posts, via entries on their Facebook, Flickr, Twitter profiles and other social networks platforms. Performances and actions in public environments completed the set of stages where the story is acted.

Audiences have an active role in the story as they are able to interact with the characters and create new pieces of the fiction. The story is that they have different information on different social network and how these people in different professional use the network for different purposes.  How they describe there lives in full description or leaving important information out is up to them.

 This is long metphor:
  • The Green Hornet, is not a 4'9 little girl who likes ponies but he is allowed to say it.
  • Batman isn't an old black man with 7 kids, who loves Soul Train.
  • But Superman is a journalist who wears glasses, and loves Lois Lane.
The false identify makes it confusing enough to wonder which character it is Clark Kent ut everyone knows Superman.
This is the example of the use of false information. I have 2 facebook holding bac information for two types of people.

Journalism in Kuwait has been suspended

People who aren't Journalist, using camera in public places in the country of Kuwait has been banned. Even freedom or the ability to capture a moment is now being stopped by this Islamic country, technology has now having to be tarished. In this day and age the ability to make newspaper for news has stopped for all SLR cameras for the public and only for certified journalist of Kuwait News team.

The Kuwait Times reports: "What most Kuwaiti photographers have come to wonder is how such a decision could be reached by authorities, especially considering digital cameras and cell phone cameras have the same abilities." Capturing a moment is very important for everyone but is it they right to slow down  technology. The country doesn't want to be viewed by the world in a different way, like the same way BBC has been banned from some African countries.

Hallunciation

The hallucination of cyberspace into reality.
Cyberspace is the second world through a screen and is the barrier from the meat life and the virtual one. Many games and companies have made money from people living in the cyber world rather than people paying attention to the real world.
I am a person who is against gaming that require time and stability and I never playing it if I am not able to move, like the Wii games are through motion sensor and the new Xbox Sensor that don’t even need a remote. But all virtual reality games like second life (an internet version of Sims) and World of Warcraft (board games was Dungeons & Dragons I think.) Call of Duty has got people addicted and takes gaming to another level.
Some barcodes have produces projections on a screen, when scanned through webcam, linking to another image or link. Similar idea is the Blackberry barcode, when scanned gets a new contact. This is like Star Trek and the Holodeck with the projected images which would be Teleommunication.
Layar is a mapping program on some smart phones that acts like a visual GPS no matter what building you are in, you can see the full make of the surrounding streets. Movies such as Blade Runner and The Matrix where made with the possibility of this, to give some idea to the future, now it’s here it’s possible. Inception is a movie that pulls the barrier for gaming into dreaming getting deep into someone self conscience planting an idea. The world will be full of imaginative people but it still doesn’t make it real. Things that are more legal and different from the other illegal.
The Digital Economy Bill was pushed this month into parliament to do with online infringement of copyright. If this comes into act free downloading or sharing of information will be enforced more illegally. So, websites like Pirate Bay, the site owner got charged in Sweden when it’s the users that are sharing the information and uploading the files. That means a lot of people can get charged even though everyone does it, supposedly (I wouldn’t know.) So, even through the screen we can charged in the real world, it is not a hallucination any more.

Cellular phones are making internet mobile

Social network have become more accessible as the technology of mobile phones evolve. Internet social networks have applications, which can be easily clicked into for fast information. This makes life easier and faster as you can get text message to tell when you have a new notification.
The problem some people find with online Facebook is that their main priority is not communicating, but games. My sister has an iPhone and a Blackberry, and both of these phones application for Facebook makes her run home to get on the laptop to check on her Ratatouille on Cafe World.  She is addicted to it more so than the communicating with friends (I guess that why twitter is there). Twitter has the same set up as the phone and visually on the laptop.
Facebook users’ app on the phone has made things more direct and quicker. If I was using a laptop I would be more addicted it, on chat, looking through pictures and videos, looking through peoples wall post, changing my name etc. It just a quick look, an easy reply, and log out. It isn’t really about playing about with the phone. Make a phone call, and make sure you have internet on your mobile, otherwise you are pissed! The evolution of 3G and smartphones some application are set to some phones like Androids, htc, iPhones and Blacberry and some Nokias.

When technology goes bad? Citizen Journalism

When public citizens take the law into their own hands and become the journalist tthey bring the story into the media's 'eye' (which is the case for most stories.) Through to technology it is a valuable thing that every human being has a text or an email to comply over something that someone did or what they saw. To be able to share it with other people and share the news within each other, hopeful to make on televison.
The recent story about the 'catlady' which was filmed on CCTV from someones house, justice has been served to that poor cat. This was all circuluated because of YouTube that caught the British audience, this got unto the main news channels.

The Protest in Burma was enclosed to the world or  and even the peoples voices could not have been heard until it spiraled out of control, hitting all news stations. Also the live tsumani or earthquakes where no one can reach, and live blogging about elections or protest is available.
Tv reporters, American journalist are different from real journalist to my view, because they are not even allowed to do what they wish by Rupert Murdoch. The real way to get real stories is from real people that don't have fear or a boss to look out for. This video displays the way that the news has stopped and halted people from even allowed to make a point or display their opinions.

Check out the link below of Citizen Journalist being paid for direct news.
  www.digitaljournal.com
There are a lot of other websites like the Twitter which has become fast and more direct news journalist, or just informing people like the guy who tweeted his heartattack.

The camera makes everyone a tourist in this reality.

If Facebook and Google maps had babies?

Things in technology have been converted to make brand new again like remediation of a topic or idea. In some cases remediation is the exact thing to make a social networking program. Facebook is a social network of people you know and way to community and Google Maps is a big A-Z of addresses and buildings. Foursquare is the reproduce effect, which provides your GPS location and be able to tell your friends.
Jay Bolter is the author of Writing Space book about remediation and digitisation “interesting distinctions to be made between immediacy and hypermediacy.” The evolution of media, like Apple Mac iPod recreation you see the change of media in the past 5 years. From first iMac, iPod nano, iPhone and iPad.
Something new will always come out of something old.

Mark Zuckerburg is an asshole!!! The Social Network

The point of Facebook, Myspace, AIM, AOL Talk, BBM, iChat and all these other social network, is to basically make people socialize through the web. Making a profile of yourself, having specfic topics to talk about. The dangerous thing is that is not just friendly and cheap but it does affect and target a lot of people to do bad.

The Pros and Cons of Social Networking

This weekend I just watched the movie The Social Network which is based on the book by Ben Mezrich The Accidental Millionaires. Basically about the social networking development by the creators who made Facebook which is the main way of communication in 2010. Through the film the actor who played Mark Zuckerburg was a pretentious asshole, but as his lawyer
"Your not an asshole, you just try so hard to be one."

So... even the inventor of Facebook created a whole new identity, or elaborated on his own. The false information, or identity some people create on social networks can be fatle to a being. But we cannot stop people telling things about themselves, but its just to use it in discression and have wisdom.
The younger generation have grown up interacting on the web, it becasue harder to socialise face-to-face. Like my cousin, only has friends on his Xbox Warcraft game and when we are together if he starts a conversation he will begin with "Xbox"or "Playstation". Even though the means of communicating has become cheaper, faster and easier it has stop the way to physical interact. People have become anti-social.

Social networking has affected people professional lives.Things that you do in your own time might affect your work, like current or future employeers seeing you page, blogs and questioning your ability, because you where intoxicated in Malia.

Network societies have its ups and downs. Jan van Dijk wrote the social networked book in 1999, he defines it as 'a society in which a combination of social and media networks shapes its prime mode of organization' (individual societal). Groups are formed'.
This does not mean it's good. I really can't bad mouth networks because I live it in myself. Having different Facebook accounts with private settings for family and friends witholding information. I don't want to be in trouble and trouble shouldn't follow me.

Rules are there to be broken but not for social status but safety. Mark Zuckerburg created a lot of bad conversations about Relationship status, to the CafeWorld, but the great thing is that technology is evolving into brighter ways. It just trying to find that balance of Asshole and Angel.
Very funny youtube movie.

What would we do without BBM?

In the stone ages, people would communicate through drawings. In the present age (even through this digital age) tribes in Africa would dance and play drums. But, hey we are in the digital world where I will only communicate through my Blackberry Messenger alias BBM.
Once upon a time I would say "I will talk to you on Aol" but every three years there is a new way or multiple ways to communication. It went from Aol chat, to webchat, to Msn Messenger, then to Yahoo, but these programs where limited to the computer screens. This guy is my Dawg! Mike Lazaridis the founder of Blackberry, which is the first invention of the smart phone has taken over the British economy; because 70 million Brits have one.
At the University of Bedfordshire of which I attend, it is no longer about asking for a girls number, it is about her BBM! There is no offline or unavailable button but a PING! Everytime I am asked for my number I start to tell people I have a Nokia or on Orange.
I was in America for two months and my BBM didn't work, I wanted to cry. Every chance I got to use someone elses I begged for it. I had to go to the prehistoric ages and communicate through MSN or Skype (keeping it old school.)

Blackberry Messenger has become a way of life and apart of the Digital Communication, without having a fancy job. I simply have no excuse to miss my homework deadline, without this 19" screen laptop but just my 3" screen AriBlackBari (that's what I call it). I just pinged my mum to tell her I am going to wash the dishes! Oooh got a PING! she said 'NOW!'
